StateCU software is used to estimate historical consumptive use based on user input data such as water supply, cropping, and climate data.
Major Features:
The featured method is the modified Blaney-Criddle, used to calculate the quantity of water consumed by crops and provides a complete water balance including return flows, shortage, etc. (other available methods include Penman-Monteith and Hargreaves)
- Relies on user input data such as climate, diversions, irrigated area, cropping patterns, and irrigation efficiency
- Data can be input directly into the software or can be processed by the StateDMI and TSTool software
- Results can be used by StateMod (surface water model) as demands to drive the water allocation estimates
Common Uses:
- Calculate historical consumptive use and return flows for a specific irrigated area
